Genome Prairie is proud to host its first annual Genomics in Manitoba networking reception on Tuesday, April 18, 4:30-7:00 p.m. in the Golden Boy Room at the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. This invitation-only event will showcase amazing genome-research advances in the province of Manitoba and why genomics will play a huge role in the future of agri-food, health, and the environment.
Join the Honourable Derek Johnson, Minister of Agriculture, who will offer opening remarks, and Mike Cey, CEO and President of Genome Prairie.
This event will also feature two presentations by leading genomics researchers. Dr. Cheryl Rockman-Greenberg, a distinguished professor at the Max Rady College of Medicine Pediatrics and Child Health, will give a short presentation about the Canadian Prairie Metabolic Network and how her research team has made significant advances in diagnosing rare metabolic diseases.
Dr. Gary Stern, Associate Professor from the Centre for Earth Observation Science at the University of Manitoba, will also give a brief presentation about the GENICE II project and how it will impact responding to fuel spills in Canada’s northern regions.
The event will also feature distinguished guests from various research institutions in the province of Manitoba and key bioscience industry leaders.
