Webinars

A key part of the SeekNet project is to build the agricultural genomics community in Manitoba. A series of webinars were held to highlight the ways in which genomics technologies can solve agricultural problems and to bring the community together.

Genome360 is Genome Prairie’s regional program that aims to make genomics accessible and useful, and support adoption in a wide-range of economic sectors to find solutions for challenges important in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

  • SeekNet: Accurate and Actionable Genomics Data to Drive Agriculture

Interested in using PacBio sequencing for agricultural research? Learn the latest SMRT sequencing capabilities and agricultural applications from experts at PacBio and a researcher using a PacBio Sequel system. Speakers include Dr. Jacob Brandenburg, Alex Cherniavsky and Dr. Sean Walkowiak (Canadian Grain Commission).

  • SeekNet: How Genomics is supporting Agriculture in Manitoba

SeekNet presents a webinar on how Genomics is supporting Agriculture in Manitoba. Speakers include: Dr. Lee Anne Murphy (PSI) “Evolution on Crop Biosurveillance – The Opportunity for DNA-based Testing”, and Dr. Sean Walkowiak (Canadian Grain Commission) –  “Applying Genomics to Cereals and Cereal Killers.”

  • How Genomics is Supporting Agriculture in Manitoba

In this SeekNet webinar, held March 23, 2022, Dr. Ivan Oresnik and Dr. Matthew Bakker from the University of Manitoba, Department of Microbiology discuss how genomics will play a key role in sustainable food production in the province, and beyond.
