WHAT AWARDS ARE BEING PRESENTED?

Two awards for excellence will be presented: An award for lifetime achievement in the field of genomics, and an award for an emerging researcher. 

WHAT DOES EACH AWARD RECOGNIZE?

The first award for Emerging Genomics Researcher, will be given to an emerging academic or research leaders whose achievements in genomics or genomics-related research in Manitoba point to a promising career of achievement in the field. The other, Lifetime Achievement Award in Genomics, will be given to a genomics leaders who has made significant contributions to genomics over the course of their career, in part or in whole, in the province of Manitoba.

WHERE AND WHEN WILL THE AWARDS BE PRESENTED?

Both awards will be presented at the Engaging Genomics in Manitoba Symposium to be held on Thursday, June 25 in the Marshall McLuhan Hall at the University of Manitoba . Event details and registration can be found here. 

CAN I SUBMIT MORE THAN ONE NOMINEE FOR AN AWARD?

By all means! Multiple nominations for both categories will be accepted by nominees. 

HOW ARE WINNERS DETERMINED?

All nominations will be reviewed by an independent judging panel, which will meet and provide their recommendation of award to the event committee. Winners of each award will be provided notice in advance of symposium event.
