SASKATOON, SK – Today marks the grand opening of one of the most advanced Containment Level 3 (CL3) facilities in the world right here in Saskatoon – the Vaccine Infectious Disease Organization’s International Vaccine Centre (VIDO-InterVac). Genome Prairie congratulates this research partner on the completion of its facility which is part of the University of Saskatchewan.
“We are proud to have worked with VIDO-InterVac on regional project development efforts, and look forward to continuing the partnership pursuing genomics projects involving infectious diseases and vaccine discovery,” said Wilf Keller, President and CEO at Genome Prairie.
In partnership with Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) and VIDO-InterVac, Genome Prairie established the Western Canadian Vaccine Network (WCVnet). This research network is evolving into the Western Canadian Vaccine Partnership and will facilitate the discovery, communication and commercialization of vaccine research in western Canada and abroad.

VIDO-InterVac held its official grand opening earlier today with special dignitaries in attendance.
